All you should know about COP25 in Madrid

Barely two weeks before it starts, the fundamental details of COP25 celebration in Madrid have already been released.

Location and how to arrive

The 25th edition of the Conference of the Parties will take place from 2 to 13 December.

It will be held at the IFEMA space in Madrid, where it will occupy a total of 7 pavilions.

You can get to the venue by any of the following:

  • Subway: The nearest station is Feria de Madrid, on Line 8: Nuevos Ministerios-Airport T4. Check timetables and metro routes here.
  • Bus: You can get there with the urban lines 73, 112 and 122, also with the interurban line 828. Check timetables and bus routes here.
  • Train: The Nuevos Ministerios train station connects with Metro Line 8.

Events distribution

The summit space at IFEMA will be divided into two zones: Green and Blue.

Blue Zone

Access will only be possible with UN accreditation.

This is where the COP25 negotiation sessions will take place, as well as the meeting of the Parties for the Kyoto Protocol (CMP15) and the Parties for the Paris Agreement (CMA2).

In addition to the pavilions for delegations from participating countries, there will be an area dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals, with events organized on thematic days linked to it.

Green Zone

You can participate in this area by pre-registering by filling out this form.

It will be located next to the Blue Zone and will be a space of participation for non-governmental actors such as scientists, NGOs, associations, companies, youth, indigenous peoples, etc.

Castellana Verde

Located along the Paseo de la Castellana, it will be a space in which public and private institutions based in this street can carry out some action related to the theme of COP25.

Take part as a volunteer

If you have the possibility of travelling to Madrid and want to participate in the summit as a volunteer, you can fill in this form, which has been set up by the Madrid City Council. The deadline for registration is 20 November.
